Central Vacuum Warranty & Service

Warranty

All Drainvac central vacuum power units carry a conditional ten-year warranty to the original purchaser at the original installation address. The warranty covers the entire unit, excluding items that require normal replacement, such as filters or carbon brushes.

Cleaning kits and motor brushes have a three-year warranty. Any parts (excluding filters) required within the first year will be supplied free of charge to our customers by the Authorized Dealer who originally sold the power unit to the customer.

In the event an Authorized Dealer is not nearby, Think Smart Built-in Systems will honor and perform warranty services provided the power unit is returned to the factory, freight prepaid. This warranty does not apply to commercial applications, power surges, misuse, abuse, acts of God, or if the unit has been worked on by an unauthorized person.

Power surges are a known cause of damage to electronic devices. Parts affected due to the same are not covered under warranty.

If you think there exists a more thorough or effective warranty by another central vacuum manufacturer, Think Smart Built-in Systems will honor the other company’s warranty if a complete copy of the alternate warranty can be attached.

Proof of Purchase

Keep all payment records (bill of sale / delivery slip). The date on these records establishes the warranty period. Should warranty service be required, you must show proof of purchase.

For Your Warranty to Be Honored

  • Install the unit in a place where the temperature does not exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
  • The vents must remain free of motors for air circulation.
  • The appliance should not be used for drawing superfine dust such as drywall dust or cement.
  • The filters, if any, must always be used and changed as needed.
  • The permanent filter must be cleaned when necessary.
  • The power unit must be serviced by a Think Smart agent every year.

Important Things to Know

Never suck up fireplace ashes, talcum powder, construction dust, sheet rock dust, etc. This may suffocate the motor, causing premature motor burnout or even worse, overheating, which is a fire hazard and not covered under any manufacturer’s warranty.
