Central Vacuum Maintenance
Central Vacuum Maintenance
Central Vacuum Maintenance: Here you’ll find condensed information on how to maintain your Drainvac central vacuum equipment.
All mechanical systems require some basic maintenance. We recommend servicing the motor brushes after 500 hours of operation. This would mean checking them every 3 to 5 years on average for residential use (every 1 to 2 years for commercial use).
Dry Units Only
For units with dust bags, the bag should be replaced when full. We recommend cleaning the cage filter every time the bag is replaced. If your vacuum has an Activac 3 filter on the air outlet, it should be replaced annually to maintain optimal air quality.
Cyclonic and Automatic Units
These units are easier to maintain. We recommend a visual inspection through the porthole window once per year. You can also clean the inside of the unit with a sponge by unscrewing the porthole window.
